Pests in blue
No not the police or Chelsea. Anyone been in London recently and encountered the little pests who hang about outside tube stations wearing blue jackets with a logo with a knife covered in blood? First saw them a couple of years back they claimed to be selling a magazine helping to fight knife crime(fuck knows how that helps-maybe you wear it in your shirt to deflect a knife?).
Been to central London recently and they are there again not selling magazines but just demanding money or even card payments(once again how that stops knife crime is a mystery).
Many of them are pests I even watch them intimidate people, could call it demanding money with menaces, always go for middle class types never anyone who looks a bit clued up.
Whats this all about?

I'm hardly ever bothered by chuggers which means presumably I look like a tramp?

However, I have been stabbed twice on separate occasions if you feel like giving me some money?

Just donate on:

Re: Pests in blue
I stopped and listened to one of them last week, heard the story and made a donation, if they can do some good that’s good as far as I’m concerned, the one I spoke to was from North London off an estate and had himself been helped in his time and was now a student at Nottingham University, he’s now helping others.

I do agree on the chugger front though and it is annoying but blanking them, learned from being hounded in African airports by taxi drivers and beggars, definitely works.

Re: Pests in blue
Surely they're paid chuggers - charity muggers - there are loads of them all the time for different causes.

Was walking through the main pedestrian area of a big city this week and was stopped three times by people from the same charity who had stationed themselves at 50 metre distance from each other. They are so annoying. I hate chuggers. Shit job (they are usually paid by an agency and aren't even employees of the charities concerned).

I live in central London and have never seen these people although it's a great idea to make people who are a little bit stabby wear a Hi Vis coat.

It makes life a little bit easier so good on them.

I've not seen them but I agree it sounds annoying and dodgy.
